The diaries of Rathindranath Tagore, written intermittently over a period from 1904 to 1925, will give readers a ringside view of the life of Rabindranath. Rathindranath had a great sense of history and he realized his responsibility to chronicle the details of his father's life. From his diary, we find information of the many operas they saw, the music concerts they attended and also his father's reactions to these. The people he met, especially on his foreign tours, form a veritable International Who's Who. Rabindranath had this capacity to draw the most creative and extraordinary people to his side. A bio-sketch of Rathindranath is included for readers who do not quite know this quiet, reticent son of the poet.

  • Amazing Story! You will LOVE it

Such an incredibly complex story! I had to buy it because there was a waiting list of 30+ at the local library for this book. Thrilled that I made the purchase

  • I read this book short...

I read this book shortly after I got it and didn't just put it on my TBR shelf mainly because I saw it on Reese Witherspoon's bookclub September read. It was one of the best books I've read this year, and reminded me some of Kristen Hannah's The Great Alone.
