"...The morning shift police had gone off duty and the next shift had not yet come. Three young men came rushing towards the building but the guard ran and locked the grill gate of our building, from inside. So they threw the bombs at the windows, on the front of our building. We were awakened by the loud sound of an explosion on our windows. It was a very scary experience. I remember, Nabil and Yeshim screaming. Yeshim was crying and screaming "Abbu, hide, please hide!..."This book is a story of a public university, not only of academics and research but also of dedication, sacrifice, friendship, hardship, sadness, violence, dishonesty, deceit, anger and above all, personal courage. It is the story of young teachers making the campus vibrant. The unques- tioned love of the students is what stands out among the list of unusual and exciting incidents, narrated in this book.

  • Amazing Story! You will LOVE it

Such an incredibly complex story! I had to buy it because there was a waiting list of 30+ at the local library for this book. Thrilled that I made the purchase

  • I read this book short...

I read this book shortly after I got it and didn't just put it on my TBR shelf mainly because I saw it on Reese Witherspoon's bookclub September read. It was one of the best books I've read this year, and reminded me some of Kristen Hannah's The Great Alone.
