On the Tigers' trail is Mohammad Islam's first book. It is an anthology of some of his best work in ESPN cricinfo, the world's leading sports website. Islam has been their Bangladesh correspondent for more than a decade, a time in which he has written extensively about Bangladesh cricket. He has covered several World Cups and iconic matches. He has done interviews with legends such as Sir Richard Hadlee, Hashim Amla, Trent Boult and Shakib Al Hasan. Many of these writings are in this book, apart from his well-researched long form writings in The Cricket Monthly.
Such an incredibly complex story! I had to buy it because there was a waiting list of 30+ at the local library for this book. Thrilled that I made the purchase
I read this book shortly after I got it and didn't just put it on my TBR shelf mainly because I saw it on Reese Witherspoon's bookclub September read. It was one of the best books I've read this year, and reminded me some of Kristen Hannah's The Great Alone.
