লেকিজ (ইংরেজিতে লেকিজ; গ্রিকে লাখেস) প্লেটোর প্রথম পর্বের একটি সংলাপ এবং এতে সক্রেটিস দুজন অ্যাথেনীয় সমরনায়ক লেকিজ ও নিকিয়াসের সাথে সাহসের প্রকৃতি নিয়ে, বা অধিকতর স্পষ্ট করে বললে ‘সাহস কী’- তা সংজ্ঞায়িত করার প্রচেষ্টায় আলোচনায় নিরত হন। মূল আলোচ্য বিষয় আন্দ্রেইয়া’-কে সাধারণত সাহস হিসেবে অনুবাদ করা হয়, কিন্তু আক্ষরিকভাবে আন্দ্রেইয়া-র অর্থ হচ্ছে ‘পৌরুষ’, যা গ্রিক সমাজে একজন পুরুষের সক্রিয় নেতৃত্বদানের ক্ষেত্রে অপরিহার্য বলে ধরা হতো।
Such an incredibly complex story! I had to buy it because there was a waiting list of 30+ at the local library for this book. Thrilled that I made the purchase
I read this book shortly after I got it and didn't just put it on my TBR shelf mainly because I saw it on Reese Witherspoon's bookclub September read. It was one of the best books I've read this year, and reminded me some of Kristen Hannah's The Great Alone.
